Behind the Roast: How Atete Finds the Right Cup
Great coffee does not begin with a beautiful bag. It begins with careful testing.
Recently, we took Atete’s green coffee samples through one of the most important stages of development: sample roasting.

Behind the scenes: reviewing and documenting each green coffee sample.
What is sample roasting?
Sample roasting means roasting a small quantity of green coffee so we can evaluate its natural character before choosing the final roast profile.
We assess each sample’s aroma, sweetness, acidity, body, flavour and finish. Even small adjustments in temperature, timing and roast development can change how the coffee tastes and feels.
Why this matters to Atete
Atete is creating coffee with the different phases of the menstrual cycle in mind.
That means we are not selecting coffee based on flavour alone. We consider the entire experience: how smooth it tastes, how balanced it feels and whether the roast profile suits the intention behind each phase.

Every roast is monitored, recorded and compared.
Some samples may be too bright. Others may feel too heavy. Our goal is to find a balance that feels distinctly Atete.
